Vamze Wybrańczyk AKVÆN (LV/PL)

Inga Vamze (LV) - tenor saxophone & electronics
Patrycja Wybrańczyk (PL) - drums

Patrycja and Inga met in 2023 at the Academy of Music in Oslo. They had the opportunity to take part in many projects together. During their musical encounters, the idea emerged to explore the concept of playing as a duo. It is a format that allows for great flexibility and the possibility of moving beyond the framework of composition. During that time, they created material which they later performed in several venues in Poland. Two years later, they met again at the same institution, this time at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. There, they continued their musical explorations, turning more towards improvised music. The unique, organic sound that emerged from these encounters inspired them to capture it on their debut album, recorded in Copenhagen.
Their first debut release “AKVÆN” appeard in August 2026, and already in May, one of their pieces appeared on the latest compilation “Portrety” series released by You Know Me Records.
